HIRIM at meeting on corruption at the Embassy of Vietnam

The Republic of Vietnam has been committed for years to combat corruption in their country. Last decade Vietnam has improved significantly but it still has a long way to go. As Southeast Asia’s fastest growing economy anti-corruption measurements are important to attract foreign investments.

A delegation of high-ranking government officials from Vietnam visited The Hague recently to get informed on seeking ways to prevent and combat corruption and implementing judicial reform. Chairman of HIRIM (Mr. Aniel Pahladsingh) and board member Ton Lutter engaged in an interesting discussion with the delegation after Mr. Pahladsingh gave a lecture titled “anti-corruption in The Netherlands”.

Among the topics debated during the lecture were forms of corruption, Dutch legislation, measures concerning public officials, judiciary and members of parliament. Illegal immigration in relation to corruption by government officials also poses a challenge for Vietnam.
